What is Coronavirus / COVID-19?

According to the World Health Organization (WHO),
Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause
illness ranging from the common cold to more serious
diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome
(MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome

COVID-19 is caused by SARS-CoV-2. Rely+On™ Virkon™ kills similar viruses and therefore can be used against SARS-CoV-2 when used in accordance with the directions for use against Hepatitis A Virus and Norovirus on hard, non-porous surfaces. Refer to the CDC website for additional information.

How Coronavirus Spreads
The CDC states, the virus is thought to spread mainly from

  • Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).

Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. It may be possible that a person can become infected with SARS-CoV-2 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads.
For more information, refer to the CDC website.
