Haviland Release Under Control

At 6:54 p.m. today, local emergency personnel responded to a chemical release at Haviland Products Company’s manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We can confirm all on site are safe and the area is stabilized. No injuries have been reported.

A minor release dissipated outside the building located at 521 Ann St. Currently there is no threat to the facility’s broader area. The area has been isolated as a precaution and the Grand Rapids Police Department is on scene limiting access to pedestrians and vehicles.
